 Recommendation“This pretty country inn, a villa built in the first decade of Germany’s era of industrial expansion, is right at the heart of the Hunsrueck Mountains. The furnishings of the various guest rooms are undoubtedly influenced by art deco and art nouveau. Like the house itself, its landlady is also out of the ordinary. A graduate economist, Annette Hoffmann-Wild has been putting her very own concept of individual hospitality into practice since 1980.
Whole foods and their careful preparation are a matter of course to her. This also applies to her respect for special dietary preferences, for example vegetarianism. Nevertheless, especially the venison and fish dishes are particularly well made, for example the subtly flavoured lamb terrine with green leaves and the exquisitely tender saddle of hare with a rich Burgundy sauce. No less delicious is the salmon steak, pan-fried in olive oil, with a creamy Riesling and butter sauce.
The surprisingly generous wine list offers some interesting bargains: Classic Rieslings from Moselle and Nahe at very affordable prices.
The cosy guest rooms and the spacious garden are a permanent invitation to guests to “dangle their soul”.

Wolfram Siebeck The Landhaus SurroundingsFor nature lovers, there is a choice of short strolls from the Landhaus – for example to the local museum or the new culture barn in Oberkleinich, or a little further afield to Wederath for a visit to the fascinating Belginum exhibition – or hiking tours through the rich woods, hills and valleys around Kleinich. The gem museum in nearby Idar-Oberstein, the exhibition mine in Steinkaulenberg (semi-precious stones) and the Herrenberg slate mine in Bundenbach are other interesting destinations for longer excursions.
Crispy roast lamb or vegetable cocktail? Guests have been offered “cooking renowned for its quality, as well as fine beverages” since the beginning of the last century – a reputation to which we feel obliged. All our dishes are prepared from fresh ingredients, some of them grown in our own garden. We are always happy to accommodate your wishes for whole foods or health foods.
There is also the romantic town of Herrstein with its half-timbered houses, the telephone museum in Morbach and the wood museum in Rapprath. And most of all, there is the magnificent Moselle valley with its picturesque towns such as Bernkastel-Kues, Traben-Trarbach and Cochem, not to forget Trier, Germany's oldest town, with countless architectural reminders from Roman times.
